Trail Skills, Inc. is our family owned and operating Outfitting Services here at Lost Trail Ranch. Permitted by the U.S. Forest Service. Colorado Outfitters Lic. #1566 For an unforgettable adventure in the mountain wilderness of Southwestern Colorado, we invite you to join us in our high mountain horseback adventures: from our guided trail rides for the experienced rider, to our highly sensitive and personal horseback lessons, to a variety of custom drop camp trips. Our goal is to provide for our guests and visitors the safest, most comfortable yet challenging, interesting and breathtakingly beautiful horseback adventure in our magnificent surrounding mountains. Our Outfitting Services offer the unique opportunity for our Guests to experience the adventures of the mountains, with private one-on-one lessons, high mountain trail rides for the experiences riders, and drop camp services during the summer seasons; and snowshoe and back country ski guided adventures during our winter season. Allow our family of knowledgeable and friendly guides to work for you, according to your individual wants and needs. There is no better way to explore the Rio Grande National Forest and the Weminuche Wilderness.
Outfitting Services Our specialty service is based upon the unique opportunity of personalized, very special, hands on horseback riding programs. We focus on our advanced, high mountain trail rides, taking a limited number of experienced riders out into the high country for an unforgettable experience in the most magnificent country you can imagine. Our rides take off straight from our ranch and into the Weminuche Wilderness or the Rio Grande National Forest. We also are pleased to continue our one-on-one lessons, working together with you to increase your knowledge, your confidence, and your ability with horses, enabling you to be safer and have a far more enjoyable horseback experience. In addition, we specialize in providing our drop camp services: this is our horsepacking services for back country or wilderness hiking trips, where we haul your groups gear to a base camp, or from camp to camp. This enables you to ride in further than you would be able to hike in a day; or to hike in on your own, without the restrictive weight of your gear, knowing that your gear will be there for you at your base camp when you arrive. Our primary goal in our Outfitting Services is to provide you with the best custom tailored outdoor adventure, and the best horse experience, that we possibly can . Each of our lessons and trips is designed with the special goals, abilities and desires of our guests in mind at all times. Your safety is our first concern, and the well being our horses is evident in everything we do. We have been guiding in this area on foot and on horse for over 30 years, and have extensive knowledge of the Weminuche and Upper Rio Grande area.
