Our Cabin Policies at Lost Trail Ranch!

Following are a list of suggestions for our Guests, to understand better what to expect here at Lost Trail Ranch.  If you have any questions regarding the following, please feel free to Contact Us at any point.  We would be glad to answer any questions you may have. 

1.           Check in time for our summer guests is between 3:00 p.m. and dark.  If you think you'll be running late, please e-mail us, and we'll leave a light on for you, but please, no early birds.  Check out time is 10:00 a.m.

2.           Please help us conserve water by keeping all water use to a minimum.  Keep the water turned off when brushing teeth, washing dishes, etc. and please report any water leaks or drips to us. 

3.           Fire safety is a serious concern for us all.   As we are surrounded by wilderness and forest lands, we must all be an important part of helping to prevent forest fires.  Any local fire bans will be noted and observed accordingly.  At all times, we ask that Guests use extreme caution and care, and are certain that all outdoor fires are completely out at the end of the day. 

4.           Our cabins are non-smoking facilities.  Smoking is limited to designated, safe outdoor spaces. 

5.           We have a limited solar electrical supply here at Lost Trail Ranch.  Please help share the energy with all of our Guests by conserving the use of lights, and refraining from the use of any electrical appliances.  Hairdryers and other heat-producing appliances are strictly prohibited.

6.           Separating and disposing of trash:  Please separate all food scraps, and feed these to our farm animals, not the wildlife.  Please separate aluminum cans only from all other trash, and put these in our recycle bin near the burn barrels.   All wood ash should be disposed of properly by our Staff.  All other trash should be bagged and disposed of in our burn barrels or our dump truck.

7.           Lets leave the forest as beautiful as we found it.  Please do not cut any trees, nor carve on them.  And please be sure to leave no trash behind.  Lets keep this mountain as pristine as it can be.

8.           Fishing licenses are required for any persons fishing.  Please clean fish near stream, not at the cabins.  Colorado Hiking Certificates are also recommended and available wherever Fishing licenses are sold.  Hunting is permitted for Unit 76 tag holders only.

9.           ATV’s and snowmobiles are allowed on the premises only for entering and leaving the Ranch.  Due to kids and dogs playing around here, there is a 5 MPH speed limit within our Ranch.

10.        There is no phone service at the Ranch.  Guests or their families should e-mail emergency messages to lostrail@fone.net.  The Mineral County Sheriff may be contacted in serious  emergency situations only.

11.         We now provide wireless satellite internet access for any of our guest that choose to bring their own wireless-ready laptop computer.  There will be a $10 per stay fee (on an honor basis)  for any guests who like to utilized this service.  Please inquire with us for more information.

12.        We ask that each Cabin is left as clean and tidy as when you arrived.

13.        Our Pet Policy - Pets may be allowed at Lost Trail Ranch with prior approval.  There is a $5 per pet, per stay fee.  As the Ranch is home to our own dogs, cats, horses, chickens, etc., visiting dogs must be leashed at all times when outdoors on the Ranch.   We ask that our

         guests use care and respect with regards to any mess and damage due to the pet(s).
